One-Day Workshop on "Environmental Conservation Through Green Energy"

The Department of Nanoscience and Advanced Materials, Saurashtra University, Rajkot, successfully organized a one-day workshop on "Environmental Conservation Through Green Energy" as a part of the National Science Day celebration on 28th February 2025. The event brought together eminent speakers and participants to discuss various scientific advancements and sustainability measures.
Inauguration and Opening Ceremony
The event commenced at 11:00 AM with the welcoming of guests, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp and prayer. The dignitaries and participants joined together to mark the beginning of the session with a solemn and auspicious start.
Prof. Dr. Bharat Kataria delivered the welcome speech, emphasizing the significance of National Science Day and the role of scientific research in environmental conservation.
Dr. J. H. Markna provided detailed information about the workshop, outlining its objectives and the key areas of discussion for the day.
Keynote Addresses and Speeches
Dr. Piyush Vanzara, the chief guest, delivered an inspiring speech, highlighting the importance of scientific advancements in environmental sustainability and the need for interdisciplinary collaboration. Dr. Piyush Vanzara provided valuable insights into green hydrogen synthesis, discussing the recent advancements in hydrogen production, its role in clean energy transition, and potential applications.
Prof. Dr. Utpal Joshisir, the Honorable Vice Chancellor, addressed the audience, elaborating on the applications of the C.V. Raman effect in various branches of science. His speech underscored the wide-reaching impact of Raman spectroscopy in modern research and technological innovations. He also discussed how Raman spectroscopy plays a crucial role in material characterization, enabling researchers to analyze molecular structures, phase transitions, and chemical compositions with high precision.
Plenary Talk
Dr. Sushil Korgaokar presented a plenary talk on various aspects of environmental audits, emphasizing their significance in sustainable development. His talk covered the methodologies used in environmental auditing, real-world case studies, and best practices for ensuring ecological balance through responsible practices.
Scientific Discussions and Presentations
A biographical documentary on C.V. Raman was screened, showcasing his contributions to the field of physics and inspiring young minds to pursue scientific inquiry.
The event also featured a poster presentation session coordinated by Dr. Sandeep Chovatiya and Prof. Prashant Rathod, providing researchers with a platform to present their findings and engage in scientific discussions.
Following this, an oral presentation session was conducted, chaired by the same coordinators, where participants discussed their research work, exchanged ideas, and received constructive feedback from experts.
Concluding Ceremony
The valedictory function and prize distribution were held in the concluding session. Awards were distributed to outstanding presentations, acknowledging the hard work and dedication of participants.
Dr. Ashish Ravaliya delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, speakers, participants, and the organizing committee for making the event a grand success.
